Rogue One Cast Talks New Action-Packed Clips, What They Stole, and Who Hasn’t Seen the Movie Yet

The Rogue One cast made an entrance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to share a new clip and to talk about everything from costumes to their first days on set.

Director Gareth Edwards talks a bit about props and stealing the Death Star plans in the above clip. They’re at his mom’s house if you want to stage a Rogue One-esque heist (JK please don’t break into Edwards’ mom’s house). Alan Tudyk apparently stole one of Diego Luna’s bullets (he took a bullet for him!) and everyone else kept their souvenirs secret. How fitting of the rogues. Watch this video to the end for an exclusive clip as of what looks like Jyn and K-2SO’s first encounter!

We’ve been blessed with a ridiculous number of clips from their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, so here they all are. In this clip, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Alan Tudyk, and Ben Mendelsohn discuss seeing the movie for the first time (Mads Mikkelsen unfortunately missed it), and Ahmed says their first reaction was an almost-awkward speechlessness. Of course, they had nothing but praise for the final cut. He also describes feeling like a 6-year-old being surrounded by StormtroopersIt’s similar to what Felicity Jones described in this featurette as “Oh right, we’re actually in Star Wars.

Tudyk spoke about having to wear stilts and a grey unitard while playing droid K-2SO, causing his groin to be eye-level for a lot of the cast. Luna was very complimentary. Ben Mendelsohn talks about villainous fashion and the numerous applications of his big white cape–both gorgeous and practical.

Edward also gushed about being a huge Star Wars nerd, answering to Darth Vader, and the chances of Rogue Two: A New Hope. There are a ton of fun anecdotes in these interviews, like Luna making the mistake of Facetiming his son on set and Yen celebrating finally becoming a “cool dad.” That was a lot to digest, but it’s definitely getting me very excited about Rogue One opening December 16th. How about you?
