In a fantastic “We Are the World”-style song titled “Holy Shit (You’ve Got to Vote), Crazy Ex Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom has gathered celebrities like Elizabeth Banks, Moby, Patti Lupone, Jaime Camil, Adam Scott, Mayim Balik, and many more to sing about how you really should be voting oh my God the stakes are so high. The Funny or Die video is half empowering anthem and half a desperate cry for help so America doesn’t shoot violently itself in the face by catching an “orange talking STD.”
Complete with faces fading into other faces, a key change, and too-famous celebrities singing on their phones instead of the studio, “Holy Shit (You’ve Got to Vote)” combines this familiar activist-song genre with great lyrics about post-World War I and copious amounts of cursing.
