Catch This Adorable as Heck Japanese Moana Trailer

There’s a lot to love about this Japanese trailer for Moana. Not only does it feature an extended version of a scene we saw in the original teaser, it’s also cute as all get-out. As io9 points out, it’s also got a seriously Miyazaki-like feel to it, with some very fun magical—and mysterious—things happening between a little girl and nature. It’s simple, this trailer, and it works in a very different way from many other trailers in that it isn’t packed with smash cuts to thrilling sequences or things like that. It’s just a look at a hella cute scene within a larger, seemingly more awesome movie.

Now, it’s no secret that we’re totally stoked for Disney’s upcoming movie, Moana. Not only does it star a female Polynesian protagonist, but from what we can tell so far, it also features a diverse cast. Playing the titular character, Moana, is native Hawaiian Auli’i Cravalho, who is herself a Hollywood newcomer. Playing the demigod Maui is Dwayne Johnson, who is part Samoan. Also along for the ride is Phillipa Soo in an unnamed role, fresh off of her tenure on Broadway’s Hamilton, which is especially cool since Hamilton creator and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote music for the film.

You can catch Moana when it hits theaters this Thanksgiving.
