Jamie McKelvie’s CHVRCHES “Bury It” Music Video Is Every Kind of Neat

It belongs in The Wicked + The Divine.

This brand new music video for CHVRCHES’ “Bury It” featuring Hayley Williams is giving me so much life today, I can’t even stand it. For starters, the video’s animated by none other than Jamie McKelvie, whose pencil brought The Wicked + The DivinePhonogramYoung AvengersCaptain Marvel, and Ms. Marvel to life.

This video in particular feels like it’d be right at home in The Wicked + The Divine, to be completely honest. And that’s no coincidence—McKelvie has designed tour posters for CHVRCHES, which are all drawn in his iconic style. The evolution of that art into a music video just seems like the next logical step for him and this band, to be completely honest.

There’s a lot to love here, not the least of which being the song itself–which didn’t originally feature Williams. But thanks to a stellar performance after bringing her out on stage to sing along during a tour stop, it seemed only a matter of time until they recorded a studio version of this song together. The result is this song and this strangely magical-powered music video.

CHVRCHES discovering they have magic powers is super rad in and of itself, but when Williams comes on the scene to show them what’s up, it gets even more neat. You should definitely take a look at the video, because it’ll have you jamming out to CHVRCHES all day in no time.
