If, like me, you were absolutely livid when NBC decided to pull the plug on Hannibal after its third season, chances are you found solace in the fact that creator Bryan Fuller likely had some other project in the works. The good news is that he’s not just developing one, but several new series for television!
In addition to his American Gods TV adaptation (which has already gotten a full-season order at Starz), Fuller’s next and latest project is revamping the 80s anthology series Amazing Stories for NBC. (It’s nice to know there are no hard feelings over that unfortunate Hannibal cancellation business.)
The original series, which was created by Steven Spielberg, ran for two seasons, and told a collection of wild and fantastic tales that ranged from suspenseful to amusing. The show brought on many notables to direct episodes over the course of its run, from Spielberg to Martin Scorsese to Robert Zemeckis.
Reports confirm that Spielberg isn’t going to be involved with the new version of Amazing Stories, but Fuller is no stranger to telling stories in a fanciful and exciting way. As someone who’s been a fan of his since Wonderfalls, I will wholeheartedly invest in watching anything he’s a part of.
