Frank Grillo On Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War

"We’ll see what happens."

Frank Grillo, whom we saw in The Winter Solider, is pumped about his role as Brock Rumlow, or Crossbones, in Captain America: Civil War. After surviving the elevator fight with Steve and a collapsing building, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of role the former Red Skull henchman will play in the upcoming film. He told Collider he “felt like a little boy” playing the role.

It’s just what you would imagine it to be. That’s what we are. Me and [Chris] Evans were doing this scene for days, where we were supposed to be in a certain part of the world and they recreated that world. There were hundreds of extras, and there we were in the center of it. [Robert] Downey wanted to come down and watch us do the scene. So, at one point, I turn around and Downey is there and [Jeremy] Renner was there and Paul Rudd had just come down, and they were all watching us do our thing. I was like, “Wow, this is special! This is really cool!”

I will find you. All of you. #x

Grillo’s costume took “seven different fittings.” While Grillo’s clearly very excited about the film (just look at his Instagram history), he mentions that audiences shouldn’t expect too much development with Crossbones.

This movie is such a big movie with a lot of people in it, so you don’t get as much of the time that you’d like to have. But, it’s all good. We’ll see what happens.

He similarly told Slash Film:

It’s a lot of physical stuff, without giving too much away, but there is a little bit of everything. It’s a big movie. There’s a lot of characters in the film so it’ll be interesting to see what it looks like all cut together. There’s so many people in the movie.

Are you excited to see Grillo in a bigger role, or is Civil War a bit too crowded?
