The Walking Dead picks up its third former The Wire cast member, and True Blood picks up an actor from The Wolverine (hint: it’s not Hugh Jackman).

Seth Gilliam, veteran of Oz, The Wire, Teen Wolf, and Starship Troopers, will join the cast of The Walking Dead as a series regular in its upcoming fifth season, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Details on just who Gilliam will play on Walking Dead are being kept under wraps. The casting breakdown — which used the dummy name of Michael — described the character as friendly with a puckish demeanor who also has a haunted side, though that is not expected to be accurate, either. (There also is not a character with the name Michael in the ongoing comics series, unless you count a small boy named Mikey.)

Given the casting description and where the zombie drama is creatively, THR‘s best educated guess is that Gilliam is playing Gabriel Stokes, a preacher who first crosses paths with Rick in the 61st issue of the comics.

Gilliam joins fellow The Wire alumna Chad Coleman (Cutty) and Larry Gilliard Jr. (D’Angelo Barksdale) on the show.

But speaking of True Blood actors, Will Yun Lee, who played bodyguard Kenuichio Harada in The Wolverine, will be joining the final season of the drama. According to Deadline:

He will play Mr. Gus, a Japanese businessman living in Texas, whose bigger-than-life, urban cowboy demeanor nearly rivals the size of his large Stetsons. Gus is out for revenge and will stop at nothing to get it.

Six Degrees of Separation games get easier every day.
