I like natural history. I love montages. (They’re always my favorite part of the Oscars. Don’t judge me.) So this “video tapestry” depicting the history of the world from its beginning to the present day is like 1 minute, 37 seconds of condensed joy to me. To make the video the team at melodysheep (the same people who did those awesome Symphony of Science vids) combined original music with clips from 17 different films, mostly nature documentaries, edited seamlessly together.

Planet Earth: It’s pretty amazing.

    Excellent. And thank gourd that they didn’t do this as an accurate timeline…that would have been like 59 seconds of a whole lot of not much with some bacteria tossed in, followed by a fast second of early creatures and then a tiny blip of humans.
