Free Comic Book Day 2013 In Pictures

[View All on One Page]

Last Saturday, May 4th, was a banner day for geeks: Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day. We asked our readers to send pics of the FCBD festivities at their local comic shops, and you complied with some great images of cosplay and general geekery. Check out some of our favorites behind the cut, and feel free to share tales of your own FCBD exploits in the comments.

These are great. I’m living vicariously. I could not go as I was working all day
(M3 Rock Festival). I came home and my boyflame had picked up some Deadpool from my pull list and a free Infinity comic.

Someone came as Amazon from Amalgam! Awesome! (ah, alliteration)

I was very pleased to see lots of parents bringing their little girls, many in costume, to the event. There was a dad behind me in line reading a Megaman comic to his little girl as she sat on his shoulders which was really sweet.

Similar experience! I was next to a dad with his little girl who was encouraging her to read Wonder Woman because she was, “strong, loyal, dependable, just like you.”
I had to briskly head to the Marvel collection so he couldn’t see my tears

I wonder how many people around the world are connected through either sports, music or comic books?

Nicole from Pure Geekery here, thanks for featuring our photo! Those girls were a ton of fun to hang out with.

I missed it too. I wanted to take the day off and cruise the DeLorean to the comic shop. Unfortunately my restoration is running a bit long and she is not currently street worthy. Next year.
