Denny’s Creates Middle Earth Menu for The Hobbit

Yup. It’s a real thing, and apparently those are real-life Lord of the Rings fans. Denny’s tie-in menu includes ‘Hobbit Hole Breakfast,’ ‘Shire Sausage,’ and ‘Seed Cake French Toast.’ And with them being open 24-hours a day, it can be Second Breakfast, Elevenses, Supper, and Dinner whenever you want it to be. I am in favor.

Or I’m really hungry.

I’m pretty amused by the ad and seed cake french toast sounds GREAT. Hopefully I can find the time to go to Denny’s soon…

Nice, looks good. Not particularly healthy, but then neither is movie popcorn.

Ahah…oh dear, that’s far too accurate. I still remember my grandmother being shocked about them making a movie out of Lord of the Rings–it was such a violent book, with all those kids killing each other!

Last time I went to a Denny’s (because I had to), it was a lousy experience. Come on. It’s Denny’s. This is not hobbit food. Don’t you remember the lovely descriptions of the food in the books? That wasn’t stuff delivered by Sysco. Reread the descriptions and then seek out a sweet little breakfast or brunch place near you with thick-sliced smoked bacon, real cream, and all the good stuff. Skip the Denny’s junk. It’s not that I’d never eat there again, it’s just that (much like the bizarre Lorax-IHOP tie-in) it seems very much like the opposite of the essence of the thing. Can’t understand fan enthusiasm over this. (Maybe it’s people who never actually read the books…)

Well, hopefully they’ll get a better reception than this company. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-17383704

Just the thing to get that stout hobbit build…
