Bryan Cranston wants the internet to know that he loves them and would have ben Lex Luthor for them in another universe.

Months ago, months ago, the internet got really into a intricate, gossamer rumor that Bryan Cranston was in the running to play Lex Luthor in Warner Bros. still-unnamed Batman vs. Superman film. So into it there were fan trailers.

I was not involved in [Batman vs. Superman] whatsoever. Oh, oh, I would have welcomed it. …In the minds of fans, it’s true. In the minds of the hierarchy of Warner Brothers, it’s not true.”

Bryan Cranston wants you to know that he rejects Warner Bros.’ reality and substitutes his own. One where he gets to play James Gordon and Lex Luthor. Of course, in the meantime, we’ve learned that the actual choice for Lex is Jesse Eisenberg, a realization that threw the internet into an entirely different kind of tizzy.

Though it did come with its own fan trailer as well. C’est la vie.
