Rumor: Marvel May Be Making Movie About Blade’s Daughter, the “Anti-Peter Parker”

Here’s a rumor that’s totally unsubstantiated but still exciting: according to Bleeding Cool, the next Blade movie will be about Blade’s 16-year-old daughter, Fallon Grey.

A comic featuring Fallon was slated for release this October and has been delayed, allegedly in anticipation of the upcoming movie. At this year’s Comic-Con, writer Tim Seeley gave a description of Fallon:

Blade’s daughter is 16-year-old Fallon Grey. She’s a sort of ‘anti-Peter Parker.’ She’s popular, she’s well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that’s before she learns she’s the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire.

Wesley Snipes has been dropping all kinds of hints recently that Blade 4 is in our future, so it seems like a safe bet that something Blade-y is coming our way, and I’m crossing my fingers that whatever it is involves Fallon.

For Marvel to make a movie about a woman of color would be incredible (and incredibly out of character for them), and I hope that Fallon’s age would encourage the film’s creative team to avoid sexualizing her and instead focus on realistically depicting an actual 16-year-old girl (who just happens to also be a daywalker).
