‘I asked for her specifically’: Influencer gets a DM calling her ‘ugly.’ So she makes an appointment at the spa where the woman works

A female influencer got a direct message from a woman insulting her looks and the frequency she creates content.
Some people might’ve deleted the message, reported it, or both. Instead, Taylor Watson (@TaylorWatsonShow) decided to exact a clever form of revenge.
“Some girl sent me a message telling me that I post too much and that I’m ugly,” Watson begins a Reel about their interaction. “So I did a little digging.”
Watson says she learned that the woman works at a spa about an hour from where she lives. So she made an appointment.
“I asked for her specifically,” Waton says.
She could’ve opted for any number of treatments the spa offers. Instead, she asked for a particularly up-close and personal service.
“Needless to say, she will be waxing and bleaching my [expletive]hole tomorrow,” Waton concludes.
Watson’s post has 10 million views and roughly 19,000 comments as of this writing.
The internet age of misogyny
Sharing even innocuous details about yourself online runs the risk of being targeted by trolls. Some of these individuals make it their business to make strangers’ lives miserable for no other reason than to entertain themselves.
Women disproportionately experience cyberbullying. Much of this abuse specifically targets them for their gender or because of it.
Woman-on-woman abuse of this nature is often referred to as internalized misogyny or internalized sexism.
A 2024 paper in the Journal of Integrated Social Sciences describes it thusly: “Internalized sexism, fueled by misogyny, occurs when women adopt learned sexist behaviors towards themselves and other women.”
This behavior is not without harm.
“It results in perpetuating sexist attitudes among women, reinforcing the male-dominated
culture, and sustaining the patriarchal system through the promotion of horizontal oppression
against their own gender,” the paper’s authors report.
‘Best level of petty ever’
Watson is a lifestyle influencer who blends comedy into tales of her daily life as a wife, mother, and working woman.
With 3.3 million followers on Facebook, it’s a safe bet that she’s experienced her fair share of online abuse, gendered and otherwise. (Watson didn’t respond to a direct message seeking comment.)
Something about the DM she got from the spa worker must’ve set her off, however. So she made an appointment to have the woman wax and bleach her anus.
People in the comments love the pettiness of this particular flex.
One dubbed Watson the “petty level expert!” Another said it’s the “best level of petty ever!”
A third suggested she make the experience even more uncomfortable with some carefully timed flatulence. “Let one rip,” they urged.
This inspired rather creative, if diabolical, comments with dietary recommendations to ensure maximum impact.
“She needs to consume broccoli, cabbage, beans and eggnog a couple of hours before the appointment,” wrote one.
Another person suggested pork and beans with a side of deviled eggs.
Still another had a simple, but arguably effective suggestion: “Taco Bell.”
