Adam Kinzinger exposes Donald Trump’s double standards as he ignored extremist groups but cracked down on protesters

In a video he posted on his X account on February 19, 2026, former United States Representative Adam Kinzinger highlights the double standards of the Republican Party by spotlighting an incident that recently occurred in Summerville, South Carolina. He is basically highlighting how certain things, when Republicans and Republican leaning individuals do them, are okay, while when others do them, they aren’t.

In the video he posted, Adam Kinzinger is discussing a woman who is a business owner who was arrested after she was found to have been part of a group chat where kids were planning a school walkout to protest the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the wake of the recent events surrounding them. Speaking about the incident, Kinzinger highlighted how the incident was an effort by the GOP to squash dissent and make an attack on the First Amendment Rights of US citizens, inviting comments from hundreds of people who mostly agreed with him. It goes without saying that the MAGAs working on single brain cells did not approve of his video.

Adam Kinzinger is raising his voice against the unfair treatment of a business owner protesting ICE

Despite identifying himself as a Republican, Adam Kinzinger has repeatedly shown that he is among those individuals who will speak up against what he believes is wrong, irrespective of his affiliations and those he is speaking against. This belief system, I believe, strongly dictates all the stuff he says about Donald Trump, with him emerging as one of his strongest critics in the last couple of months. That said, it’s not just Trump he speaks against; he also criticises other members of his party, including the party itself, and he has not done that once or twice but multiple times.

Adam Kinzinger is once again speaking out about injustices under the Trump administration, this time focusing on an incident from Summerville, South Carolina, previously mentioned. Speaking about Dinah Chollet, who is a restaurant owner, Kinzinger mentioned that she was arrested after there was “public pressure” from “the right” for her being part of a group where school students were planning to stage a walkout to protest ICE. Kinzinger added context to the incident, stating that Chollet was in no way instigating the students present in the group, but was arrested regardless. He also added that the entire incident was an effort by the current government to silence nonconformism.

Adam Kinzinger is shedding light on the hypocrisy of members of the GOP

While discussing Dinah Chollet’s case, Adam Kinzinger also briefly spoke about the young Republicans chat that created waves back in October 2025. In case anyone’s forgotten, the individuals who were part of the group were all Nazi enthusiasts and Hitler appreciators who were openly joking about putting people in gas chambers.

Talking about this group, Kinzinger highlighted in his video how members of the GOP reacted to the news, including JD Vance, who basically said that it’s okay for kids (he is talking about those above 18 years old and some in their thirties, by the way) to talk offensively and that they shouldn’t have to face any negative consequences for it. Here’s what he said, “The reality is that kids do stupid things. Especially young boys, they tell edgy, offensive jokes like that’s what kids do. And I really don’t want us to grow up in a country where a kid telling a stupid joke, telling a very offensive, stupid joke, is cause to ruin their lives.”
