We Can't Have Nice Things

No One Likes Worf’s Ideas on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Ever. [Video]

This 15-minute video proves something really special: Lt. Worf (played by Michael Dorn) was the Rodney Dangerfield of the starship Enterprise. He probably never got the takeout he wanted, he probably never got to watch the TV shows he wanted, and he was never taken up on his brilliant strategies for saving the crew and/or multiverse. Oh, well.

    I actually noticed this.

Also: anyone else absolutely love the way he says sensors?

  • Anonymous

Wow.  I never noticed this before.  Yeesh, and it happens so often.  :/

  • M Snaddon Redford

I like to assume that whenever Worf says “yellow alert” he just has to pee.

  • John Wao

Boy that went from funny to sad real fast. Talk about hostile work environment.

  • Sanjay Merchant

So…  was searching that Klingon shuttlecraft under the pretense of a health and safety inspection the ONLY time Worf got his way?  Like ever?

  • Anonymous

The ironic thing is, 90% of the time, he’s completely right, and would’ve saved the Enterprise a hell of a lot of trouble.

  • Sanjay Merchant

Also, whoever made the video left out one memborable example:

Worf:  I must protest!  I am NOT a Merry Man!

Data:  On the contrary, Lieutenant, your attire identifies you as the character of Will Scarlet.

With the way his ideas are ignored or shot down, you’d think he was a woman from our time period…

  • Mike Perez

I wish they’d do 1 more episode of TNG just so everyone can agree with Warf.

  • Skemono

I love the way he says *everything*.  Mm.  That voice.

  • JoAnna Luffman

    Nah, just a black man.

  • Brad Hart

    Is Worf the Messiah?

  • Jason Baron

I remember this, from watching it back in the day.

  • Lee Wells

He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy!

  • Annamaria Slaven

No wonder he moved to Deep Space Nine. At least there, Sisko listened to him sometimes.
