The Adjustment Bureau has mostly been marketed as an Inception-esque action drama, but, little did we know, the movie is actually mostly a romantic thriller about the struggle against the mysterious forces who control your fate with love as the ultimate goal. Go ahead, check the Wikipedia article.

While the people behind the film’s marketing tried to pull the ol’ genre bait and switch, they were unable to keep the true girly nature of the film’s story from leaking.  And what happened?

Women made up a significant box office pull that gave The Adjustment Bureau the #2 spot in the box office this weekend, trailing only the age-gap bridging Rango.

From Vulture:

Thanks to word of mouth on its romantic underpinnings, more than half (53 percent) of the Adjustment audience was the fairer sex, and three-quarters were over the age of 30.

So take heart, Hollywood, and stop trying to pull the wool over our eyes with your trailers. Women will go to action movies.

She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
