Vin Diesel Does Multilanguage Voice-over of His Singular Guardians of the Galaxy Line

Я Гроот!

For an actor who only has to say three words for an entire movie, Vin Diesel sure has to wow audiences by putting all of the necessary emotions behind those three little words so that we get the gist of what he should be saying. Diesel decided to show off his language chops as well, by recording his line in several different languages! These new behind-the-scenes videos show him dubbing his lines in Spanish, Portugese, French, and Russian.

I can’t speak for the other languages, but as someone who is studying the language, his Russian’s not quite correct. “Is” is a tricky word in Russian. When used in this particular case, to say that he is who he is, it isn’t actually used. His line shouldn’t be “Я эс Гроот!” (pronounced “Ya es Groot”), but rather simply “Я Гроот!” (pronounced “Ya Groot”). Other non-English speakers, is he getting it correct in your language?
