Episode 13: “Demons”

Harold is still terrorizing Maddy and Donna as James busts down the door to save the day! They all run off but leave Laura’s diary behind. Harold howls in pain while pruning his orchids. OH SHIT I JUST SAW IAN ABERCROMBIE’S NAME IN THE CREDITS!

Audrey is still under the effects of the heroine but is finally away from One Eyed Jacks and happy to see Agent Cooper. Sheriff Harry shows him an old mug shot of Jean, and they realize he used Audrey as bait. He admits it’s not the first time someone has been hurt because of his actions. DUN DUN DUN! Agent Cooper then confronts Benjamin but doesn’t let him in on everything he knows about the creep.

Bobby and Shelley welcome Leo back home, awkwardly. Hey, Ian!!

Looks like they shop at the Plaid Shoppe.

Looks like they shop at the Plaid Shoppe.

Oops, taxes etc. mean these crazy kids are only getting $700 a month, not the $5,000 they expected. Donna goes to Sheriff Harry to tell him about the secret diary and he says he’ll try and send someone out but they’re very busy. FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole, Cooper’s supervisor and in reality David Lynch, arrives. He has hearing problems which make for keeping things quiet, in any sense of the word, impossible. He shares some forensics info and the one-armed man is brought back for questioning.

Benjamin comes to see Audrey, “I’m aware of a lot of new things too, daddy,” she gravely warns him as he tries to pretend like shit did not just go down. Nadine is still having her memory issues but is also still freakishly strong. The Asian man and Josie are discussing her impending trip back to Hong Kong and he makes vague threats toward Sheriff Harry. DON’T YOU DARE. James meets with Maddy to apologize and admit he has been seeing her as Laura. Blah blah blah zzzzzzz. Oh she’s going home tomorrow!

Josie meets with Benjamin to discuss her money for Pete’s signature. He tries to stall and asks her if she’s under some sort of pressure. He says he has a dossier on her and her late husband’s accident in his safe, she says if anything happens to her, it would lead authorities to a safety deposit box with evidence on him!

screamsinternallyHe finally gives her a check (the one from “Mr. Tojamura” I think?) for $5 million.

Bobby and Shelley have a “party” for Leo which amounts to them dressing him up in party favors.. They’re about to have sex in front of him when he moves ever so slightly and scares Shelley. And then his face falls in cake.

Meanwhile, David Lynch, I mean Gordon Cole, finally gets to see Agent Cooper. He and Rosenfield think he’s getting in over his head again, and shouts this, letting everyone hear. Harry peaks in to tell them so but we then find out an anonymous letter has been sent to Agent Cooper which reads: “P to K-4” a chess deal, opening move to be specific. Agent Cooper says it’s from Windom Earle. Hmmm.

Benjamin asks Leland to come back to work with him except he can’t because of that pesky indictment. Jerry is checking out Mr. Tojamura’s details in Tokyo but Benjamin asks him about buying time which he is able to help him with. Sheriff Harry goes to see Josie and finds her all packed and on the way out. She introduces the man as her assistant Mr. Lee. Says she’s going away, that she sold the mill, and he should just forget about her. He drops an “I love you.” And another! And she’s gone.

Benjamin meets Tojamura, who asks about the cashiers check. Leland starts singing “Getting to Know You” in the dining area and is awesome. Pete, at the bar, swings around and exclaims, “The King and I!” And as I go into a giggle fit, he tries talking to Tojamura. He has no idea it’s Catherine.

At the police station, the one-armed man is asking for his medicine, which apparently was for schizophrenia and multiple personalities. They don’t give him the medicine and he takes on one of them… Mike. I am an inhabiting spirit. Bob was his familiar. “He is Bob, eager for fun. He wears a smile, everybody run.” Bob is a parasite, who also needs a host. He’s trying to stop Bob. Few can see his true face… the gifted… and the damned.

OHSHITTo the hotel!!

Episode 14: “Lonely Souls”

The crew is waiting to invade the hotel but are having coffee and donuts first. Because obviously. Gordon Cole is heading off on a special mission. They literally start showing the one-armed man each person at the hotel to see if it’s Bob. Just as Benjamin comes to complain, he starts having a fit. Hmmm. Hawk goes to find Harold, whose place is totally trashed. Annnd he hanged himself. The police are sorting through everything at Harold’s house and find a note “I’m a lonely soul.” They also find the diary.

Maddy is taking a leisurely morning with Leland and Sarah. She tells them it’s time for her to go home and they aren’t happy about it but Leland tries to understand. Shelley and Bobby are trying to sort out her bills. He insists Leo must have been hiding money somewhere as Leo once again scares them by moving. Bobby has a hunch about shoes. Audrey confronts Benjamin about One Eyed Jacks, he denies everything. She even tells him about their close encounter. Gross, gross, gross, gross. He finally says he knew Laura worked there but didn’t encourage it. She asks if he slept with her, he admits yes, he did. She asks if he killed her, he says he “loved her.”

ShutUpShelley tells Norma she’s going to have to stop working at the R&R. Nadine and Big Ed arrive and he implores Norma to play along in her delusion. Nadine is so happy to just like, be alive, she breaks her shake glass. And she is still so happy!

She could.

She could.

Bobby brings Mike (maybe the only teenager on the show still going to school) back into the picture. He’s picked up Leo’s boots from the shop and they find secret compartments. There’s a mini tape in one! Agent Cooper talks to Diane about Laura’s diary, she mentioned Bob… who was around from early adolescence??? She referred to him as a friend of her father’s. “Some day I’m gonna tell the world about Ben Horn,” she also wrote. Audrey interrupts and tells him about Benjamin sleeping with Laura. “Without chemicals he points,” Agent Cooper remembers, and connects it to the one-armed man at the hotel when Benjamin arrived.

Tojamura’s Tokyo connections check out but the police interrupt Benjamin in the midst of his bliss. And he tries this…

TwinPeaksS1Ep14d…which might be one of the funniest attempts at nonchalantly avoiding the law I’ve ever seen. And then…

Sarah is dragging herself down the stairs of her home, calling for Leland???? Oh good god the way she did it reminded me of that upside down stair seen from The Exorcist. This can’t be good.

YUSSSSSSSSSS

YUSSSSSSSSSS

Log Lady is watching as they bring Benjamin into the station. She tells them there’s owls in the Roadhouse. Something… is happening. Peter is visited by Tojamura!!! Who proceeds to kiss him passionately. Tojamura finally breaks character and reveals herself as Catherine. “You look terrible,” says Peter, and welcomes her back with open arms.

Sarah sees a white horse in her living room because of course she does. Leland is just… there, straightening his tie???

At the Roadhouse a lovely performance is going on. Donna is feeling guilty over Harold’s death. The Log Lady enters with Agent Cooper and Sheriff Harry (all looking totally boss) to eat peanuts. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. The band disappears, everything else stops, Lurch!
