When is this out??? I must have it!!!

  • Adam R. Charpentier

Zombies? Hallucinations? She doesn’t look like she did in Top Cow?! Shut up and take my money!

Because they’re not usually that good, I rarely buy comics inspired by video games, except for Mass Effect because I make an exception every time Mass Effect is involved in anything. This might be another good exception to make though. Simone is great.

Clicking on the “View All on One Page” link shows a lot of pictures of Batman. Is Batman in this comic?

  • locuas

    And sonic, sonic i awesome.

  • Joanna

Her boobs are practically non-existent here. I didn’t know female comic book character could be portrayed this way. =D

Wooo! I loved this game and I love Gail Simone. That math equals “Take my money!”

  • Jamie Jeans

That cover had me a touch concerned, considering how they drew that shirt, but the inside artwork looks great! Definitely interested.

  • Lady Commentariat

Yeah, I don’t know what’s happening with the lighting there. It’s like the shirt is painted on–there’s no fabric spanning the between-boobs gap.

I think the bowstring is tucking the shirt? I don’t know, I’ve never seen anyone actually wear a bow like that…

  • Joanna

It’s the strap from her quiver.

I’ve been waiting for this since it was announced, SO excited it’s almost here! Yay!

  • http://sharqubus.tumblr.com George Trello

Ahh, see it now, good spot.

  • Pink Apocalypse

    Hate the male-gaze-trying-not-to-be-obvious-male-gaze cover.

Love the interior art, and I love Simone’s writing. Red Sonja had me deeply skeptical, and it turned out great. Can’t wait to read this.

  • Elizabeth Wells

Yeah that’s how I wear my purse (I’m clumsy and awkward enough that it falls off if I don’t wear it crossways). Straps are very outline-ing

  • Guymelef

Pretty sure she wears the bow like that in the game.

  • Cowtools

I’m someone who hasn’t played a video game since the N64. I just noticed that the new Tomb Raider game is available for Mac, so I could give it a go. I’ve heard mostly good things about it. Would it be a game someone with little experience like me could enjoy playing? Or is it for more experienced players?

  • Shhhh

If you’re at all interested in it already, I say go for it. It was easily in my top five games of last year. The rebooted Lara Croft character is great to play as and the game has a pretty good balance between fight sequences (that you can probably adjust the difficulty for depending on your comfort level) and exploring. You can spend a lot of time poking around/back tracking for XP to level up, etc.

  • Cowtools

Okay! Thanks! I’ll give it a go. Now to just find the time…

  • Michael McNinch

Well they appear to exist, but for some “strange” reason they refuse to attempt to escape from her clothes like most female characters boobs do… it’s almost as if her shirt and (assumed) bra are functioning in a realistic fashion and aren’t just there so her cleavage has something to stick out of. :)

  • brightmushroom

Hayyyyy we should get some Nishimura up in this party lol, I kind of adore her.

I really am excited to see the reboot continue though, I’m really curious to see if they lead bright eyed young Lara into the established canon wherein she’s kind of this detached violent psycho Amazon lady or rewrite the canon altogether. I think I do remember someone on the development team saying something like “the cheeky British girl archetype is a relic of the past “

  • brightmushroom

It’s a game I highly recommend, ESPECIALLY to less experienced players, it doesn’t have the intense boss level fighting or need for grinding or complicated gaming elements that super experienced gamers enjoy. But it’s still highly enjoyable and new Lara had me totally in love with her haha

  • Cowtools

That’s what I needed to hear! Thanks!

  • Charlie

I am getting a sub to this and Serenity for my birthday *nods*

I am SUPER excited about Gail writing Lara, and man, that Dos Santos cover is gorgeous. It’ll be great to have a woman like Gail writing Lara, particularly the younger version. I’ve always loved Lara despite her eye candy origins, and I’m excited to see what kind of great stories Gail will come up with for her.
