Fashion Superhero Tim Gunn Examines the Green Lantern Costume [Video]

If there is anyone we wish could just be our friend for the day, helping us save us from our unfashionable selves or just telling us amazing stories peppered with zingarific take-downs, it’s Tim Gunn. And if there was anyone who had the right to assess the effectiveness of a Marvel superhero’s costume through the years, it’s him. At one point in this interview with Newsarama’s Crazy Sexy Geeks Jennifer Ewing and Alan Kistler, Gunn points out the Christmasy early costumes worn by Hal Jordan and asks “Who’s going to be threatened by a superhero who’s a dandy?”

Tim Gunn is great! But Green Lantern is a DC character, silly!

    2:29: “I mean, who’s going to feel threatened by a superhero who’s a dandy?”

Really? That’s a shame. By one definition (someone who pays a lot of attention to their looks), all superheroes are dandies.

Other than that, a fun little thing. Costume changes are fascinating and often hilarious.

This was me watching the video: “Get to ragging on the movie already get to ragging on the movie already GET TO RAGGING ON THE MOVIE ALREA–FUCK IT’S OVER?!”

He’s talking about Alan Scott, not Hal Jordon when he makes the dandy comment.

I’ve always thought that “Project Runway” should have a cosplay challenge,
