Tim Burton’s Entire Body of Work in Just About Two Minutes [Video]

You might not become especially emotional when you think of Tim Burton‘s movies, but this supercut by Kees van Dijkhuisen — who has done supercuts for several filmmakers, including Ridley Scott and Pixar — is yet another couple of minutes that celebrates Burton as an auteur and artist. It is the slightest bit melodramatic, or else I would not have used the word “auteur.”

The part that’s really kicking my butt about this editor is that he’s only 17 years old, according to his Vimeo biography. 17! His work’s very cool, and the age just makes it crazier. Well done!

This just made me remember why I love Tim Burton.
Despite some of his sub-par and cliche moments his films really have this sense of magic to them. They remind me of what its like to be a child- to see the world in such a strange way.

Kees did a great job with this.

Bull! I don’t care if he didn’t direct it, Nightmare Before Christmas should have been in there!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I’m hoping for an upswing after Alice.

I just realized that I watched every single movie of his up until four years ago, when my son was born, and even then I managed to see Alice in Wonderland. :D

This montage illustrates so well why I’m such a Tim Burton fan. I’ve loved almost all of his work.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that his movies nearly always have Johnny Depp in them. Depp is an amazing actor (and not hard on the eyes either).
