Loki And That Guy Who Actually Stars in Thor: The Dark World Get New Character Posters

What was the other guy’s name again? Door? Lore? Whatever. His poster’s behind the jump.

Just kidding, Thor. I love you, buddy, but the fangirls, they like who they like.

I am burdened with glorious posters.

  • Gerald Kirby

I know this is probably the last place I should say this (after tumblr), but I’m glad Loki won’t be in Avengers 2. Too much of any awesome character waters them down and turns them into a parody of them-self. Thor 2 isn’t even out yet, but I already feel as I need a break from him.

  • Imzadi77

I’d pay big money for Loki. I mean the poster. Oh, who am I kidding….FOR BOTH!

  • Thomas Hayes

It’s especially risky with villains, I feel. Loki needs a break before they use him again and they’re right not to muddle up anything they do with Ultron by having Loki there. Especially when Avengers 2 has to introduce Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as well!

  • Janna

I <3 Loki (obv), but yeah, I wouldn't want him to become Captain Jack Sparrow II.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

Um, I would totally watch a movie with Hiddleston as Data & Lore. *runs*

  • Elizabeth Wells

Now I need a Jane Foster poster.

Now I have a want I didn’t know about. *sigh* Well, just add it to the heap.

  • Sarah Brockman

Maybe it’s the shine on my screen, but something looks weird about Thor’s right forearm to me. Anyone else, or am I just needing a caffeine boost to see straight?

  • Katie Frederick

Sometimes I feel so alone preferring Thor over Loki. I mean /look/ at him, he’s gorgeous AND adorable (seriously his smile is the best). I mean Loki is still great, no mistake, but I really loved that in the last movie Thor was legitimately humbled by his banishment and was gracious to Jane and the others (any other movie he would have been snapping at them and trying to get home without any help). Loki just became bitter.

I’m paraphrasing a line from the comics, but there is no Loki without Thor. The movie/comic is called “Thor.” Those of us who love Loki (I’m speaking for others but I hope they agree) still love the big guy, too. I always had a thing for Loki in Norse Mythology, personally, but Thor and Mr. Hemsworth have a big place in my heart. Actually I adore this entire cast, more so than any of the other Marvel movies. I want Jaimie Alexander to be as big a star as Hemsworth and Hiddleston. I love her soo muuuuuccchhh. And don’t even get me started on Ray (“TITUS PULLO I LOVE YOU FOREVER OH MY GOD”) Stevenson. etc etc.

  • JMH

I honestly hope he’s not a villain, but that they transition him to chaotic neutral. I know, in the comics, blah blah, but in mythology he’s not a bad guy. He’s just not a good guy. I think that’s more interesting, if he’s unpredictable. Or even if he’s more Hannibal, you know? He was sloppy enough in Avengers, out of character, that I’d be pleased to know he failed on purpose, that what happened was what he wanted to happen even if just subconsciously.
Loki’s supposed to be a trickster god, not Satan. He invokes chaos not entropy. End of the universe would bore him to tears.

I wonder if this will go the way of those fancy Wolverine posters.

  • Anonymous

No, I agree. You can’t be enigmatic if you’re onscreen 24/7.

  • Rebecca Pahle

I agree. Give Loki some breathing room and let another villain have the limelight.

  • Anonymous

You *need* both of them, as Loki would be lost without his fighting of his brother, and Thor would be lost without the hoping that one day he gets his brother back. Unstoppable force meets Immovable object. Rinse and repeat until Ragnarok …x

  • Noelle

No, I agree with you. And I adore Loki. Personally I’m hoping we’ll eventually get Von Doom in one of the movies. He’d be even more entertaining than Loki.

  • Anonymous

If they have a third Thor with the Asgardians vs Surtur, then Loki would almost certainly be an anti-hero in that. In the comics Odin faced down Surtur with his two sons by his side.
    Odin: “For Asgard!”
    Thor: “For Midgard!”
    Loki: “For myself.”

  • MeatyStakes

WoW, that header was disrespectful as heck; so dissapointed.

TITUS PULLO! I have a mighty need to watch Rome again.
As a Loki fangirl I agree on the ‘no Loki without Thor’ especially in Marvel, but even in the mythology. He’s pretty awesome on his own but I like him best in the stories where he’s bouncing off blondie (though myth Loki in my head is blonde too).

  • Erin Treat

I’m with you. I think Hemsworth and Hiddleston both have amazing charsima. Hemsworth gets unfairly overlooked some times because Hiddleston is such a scenery chewer. But Hemsworth is the whole package. Gorgeous, talented and charismatic. Not just a pretty face.

And yes, I prefer Thor to Loki too. Calling women quims and talking about murdering lots of people are a turn off for me. But then I’m gay so it’s just hypothetical. LOL

  • Mark Brown

    Oh god(s).

Thor and Doom. The very definition of Ham-to-Ham Combat.

  • Anonymous

We’ve had Von Doom in two modern movies. They both sucked and were from Fox, which still owns the film rights to the character. They’re currently rebooting FF, unfortunately.

  • Omegasama

  • Bear TheDad

But I have some degree of faith in Josh Trank. Hopefully, he can convince them to copy Marvel and bring a faithful adaptation of FF to the screen.

  • Anonymous

Okay. But I don’t think there’re many who would argue that it would have been better if Fox just let the rights revert back to Marvel.

I need one of those luscious Loki posters to hang on my wall for those lonely nights.

  • Lady Viridis

Thor provides some gorgeous eye-candy, but I admit, I find Loki a way more fascinating and complex character. That isn’t to say any of the other characters are bad– all the actors do a good job, and the characters themselves have solid arcs. But Loki is the one that catches my interest. But hey, you know, that’s what fanfiction is for.

  • Lady Viridis

Wow. I don’t have strong emotions either way on Thor 2 (I’m planning to watch it, but I’m not that hyped for it) but… I may need to own that Loki poster. Although it might be a little creepy having him stare at me like that all the time. o_o

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

That’s probably my favorite Loki line ever.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

THIRTEEEEEEEEN!! I still cry a little bit whenever I see that scene. Pullo and Vorenus, best ever.

I’ve always seen myth Loki as a ginger. I thought Hiddleston in Henry IV and V still looked remarkably like what I always imagined. (it’s the grin, I think) haha.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

Thor’s absolutely my favorite Avenger and I was really upset by how little screentime he had in the Avengers movie. I don’t care a whit about Hawkeye or Iron Man at ALL.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

Loki’s my favorite but I get so disturbed by all the lustful adoration. He’s a genocidal psycho. He KILLS people. He is not going to be redeemed by ~true love.~ He might eventually become “chaotic neutral” or whatever but it will never change the fact that he TRIED TO KILL THOR multiple times and tried to take over the planet, etc etc. The whole woobie cutesy thing some fangirls do with him gives me the creeps.

  • Myomorph

I really really REALLY WANT A FRIGGA POSTER.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

I do too!! I forgot Darcy too! They should make a “Kick-Ass Ladies of Thor” poster JUST FOR ME. haha

  • Myomorph

  • LifeLessons

This fangirl despises Loki. I mean he’s pretty but then he opens his mouth and I’m like “Oh good grief, what a jerk.”

  • Charlie

    Girls just love the crazy.

  • EB

I feel like an odd ball for liking them both pretty equally. At first I like Thor more because he’s the “good guy”, but Loki has grown on me. Though some of that it because I figured out I could do a really good genderswaped cosplay of him if I put my mind to it.

  • Anonymous

Yeah, but 85% of that is pure Tom Hiddleston. If anyone else was playing him, they wouldn’t care nearly as much.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

I do agree, but he has some scary comic fangirls too. And he’s wayyyy more evil there.

  •!/scarletsherlock elliekitty

Lady Loki is pretty awesome in the comics. I’m sad we’ll probably never get it in the movies (Jaimie Alexander would ROCK it).
