  • Because it is Mother’s Day today, let’s take a look back at what our electric-powered surrogate mother, the Television, has taught us over the years. (via The Frisky)

    • There is a Ghostbusters-inspired proton pack backpack on sale at the Neatoshop, and I don’t know how to approach this because I am an adult, but I do generally carry a backpack as a bag.

  • On a more serious, but still humorous note, some of us don’t get to celebrate Mother’s Day with our mothers anymore, and over at The GLOC, some comedians share how they deal with the loss of their mothers in their acts.
  • Late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury might be getting the Tupac treatment and coming back to the stage in London on Monday as an “optical illusion.” As much as Freddie might have positively treasured that idea while alive, I feel like he would have liked to have been asked permission for this kind of thing. The band itself are torn — Brian May is all about it, Roger Taylor is not. (via Mashable)

    • Having already tackled werewolves (in Dark Shadows) and vampires (in Let Me In), plus the iconic horror role of Carrie White, Chloe Moretz is now eyeing the zombie apocalypse as her next genre role. She is said to be in talks to play the title role of Maggie, playing the stricken daughter of a man who vows to protect his daughter despite her, um, undead status. (via Geek Tyrant)

      I’ve had that Ghostbuster backpack for 2 years now and i take it with me everyday to the office. If I’m gonna need a backpack, may as well be a Ghostbustin’ pack. Sides it was sole first at 80′s tees for a long time. The proton pack does have a tendency to get snagged on door handles though …
