Things We Saw Today: Character Actors Looking Different on the Sets of Superhero Movies

Item one in this correlation: Paul Giamatti doing some pre-post-production work to play the Rhino on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. (Comics at the Movies)

Second item in correlation: Peter Dinklage and a moustache on the set of X-Men First Class. There’s no official word on who Dinklage will be playing, but Bolivar Trask, inventor of the Sentinels, and the mutant hero Puck have both been raised as ideas. (io9)

Well, the mustache could fit either one, but the fact that his character has hair suggests that it’s not Puck.

The X-films have changed powers and appearances of characters before, though… (Having a speedster Asian be the vaguely-raced, but possibly Hispanic super-tracker “Callisto” in “The Last Stand”?! What the fuck?! If the credits didn’t name her as such, nobody would’ve guessed that’s who that was supposed to be!) …so they COULD give Puck a full head of hair despite the comic character being cue-ball bald…

I’ve heard people talk about how different Paul looks, I think he’s going through a phase, that phase being his “Dammit I’m not Louis CK” phase.

Or possibly because it’s between scenes and his character shoes are phenomenally uncomfortable.

My apologies. I only saw the movie once back when it was in theaters and was relying on hazy memories for my comment.

Still, the way she was presented in the movie had basically no relation to her comic book counterpart.
