The truth about Fake Geek Girls: They are a small population, but the internet loves its witch hunts.

  • Gordon Borland

Fake Geek Girls, hell fake geeks in general aren’t a thing. No one has a right to say whether you are or are not a “real geek”.

“They are a small population.” Indeed, very small. Zero, in fact.

    A Hunger Games… makeup collection.

Not enough faces or palms on the entire planet.

Hey, we already got tie-in Hunger Games nail polish.

  • Andrew Paul Ross Semkow

so now we lash out at my credibility? classy, I get it’s not a popular opinion I have, but do I believe they exist? yep. Why? well when people come into a store and say something like “I’m such a nerd” makes you believe it’s possible. And really all subcultures will have their posers or their imitators, do I believe it’s just girls? nope, do I believe there as common as the internet makes em? nope.

  • Gordon Borland

who are you to decide whether any particular person’s interest’s are genuine or not ?

    Some of which were awesome.

Not gonna lie, I’m excited to see how wild they are willing to go with this. I wish the marketing team would push it even harder the fact that we, the audience, are the Capitol (and all the horrors that should entail). Like I wish they would go full on TDK and send out fake ads for bizarre fashion: like blue skin is the new green! Or ‘how to sponser a Tribute today!’ The marketing for these movies could have been a lot more fun/detailed as well as point out the not so good stuff in our culture that Collins drew on for the book.

“Zero’s a percent!” (Wish I could find a clip of it)

You honestly think that someone saying “I’m such a nerd” is harmful? That it somehow threatens nerd culture? If that’s the case, you really need to grow a thicker skin. Even if they weren’t actually nerds, if they were just pretending, how does that affect you? They’re not hurting anyone, live and let live.

So yes, Fake Geek Girls are not a real problem, they just aren’t. We need to stop pretending that they are.

  • RC_cola

RDJ is a work of art.

  • Emppu Nurminen

Surely people can have opinions, but are you sure you want to have that one? You do realize you make whole geekdom to sound awful similar like the high school popularity contest, if you put it that way. I mean, Prada, Batman, it’s all about semantics, man!
