The first poster for the Chloë Grace Moretz-starring Carrie remake, directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss), looks appropriately creepy. /Film has a recap of the teaser footage shown at New York Comic Con as well.

I’d be interested to see how the Carrie remake turns out. Part of the beauty/appeal of the first one was how awkward and (forgive me) not (mainstream) pretty Sissy Spacek was–she was the prefect outsider. I’m interested to see how a much (forgive me again) traditionally (by industry standards) pretty girl fares in the role.

I agree, save that I thought Spacek was a bit too pretty. Carrie in the book was overweight, had severe acne on her face, back, buttocks, and chest, and was slightly balding. I was really hoping they’d find someone who was not only “not mainstream pretty”, but in fact (forgive me, you know what I mean,) rather ugly.

So you mean normal, then. Like, 98% of the population normal.
