The Walking Dead has Cast Its Biggest Villain

The Governor is a character any fan of the Walking Dead comic series will be familiar with, as the megalomaniacal leader of a unusually large and secure settlement of survivors. To say almost anything more would be to reveal spoilers. As somebody who doesn’t watch or read The Walking Dead, I took it upon myself to read his character article on Wikipedia, and believe me: it’s the kind of story that I wouldn’t expect to make it to network television without some parts (this is both a zombie pun and not a zombie pun) edited out.

So, here’s the man that AMC has tapped to portray the murderous leader (Doctor Who fans, prepare for some cognitive dissonance):

David Morrissey, a British actor and veteran of The Other Boleyn Girl and Being Human, is on the list to be the Governor (real name Phillip Blake) in Season 3 of TWD, which, unlike the previous two seasons, will include sixteen rather than thirteen episodes. (Doctor Who fans may recognize him as the man who thought he was the Doctor from the 2008 DW Christmas special, hence the cognitive dissonance. But, hey, a big opportunity to improveme on your Six Degrees of Doctor Who game.)

On an unrelated note, somebody needs to tell AMC to get a Walking Dead tie in with this game and call it The Running Dead.

She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
