X-Men: Days of Future Past

  1. James McAvoy Hints at Professor Xavier’s Hair Loss In X-Men: Apocalypse

It's okay, Charles, the '80s will do that to you.

X-Men sticklers will tell you - Professor Xavier is as bald as a cueball. But when you're casting a leading man for your film about young, hip mutants, you couldn't possibly make him shave his head. No one finds that appealing. Nope. But as timelines converge it seems the creators of the franchise may be starting to fold to the pressure. Will James McAvoy start losing those locks in X-Men: Apocalypse?

  4. Rad Concept Art Re-Designs of Maleficent (And Also Kitty Pride) Show Us What Could Have Been

Oh dear, what an awesome situation.

Conceptual artists Jerad S. Marantz  and Kelton Cram have two things in common: they both worked on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and they both really enjoy drawing Angelina Jolie with various types of badass horns on her head. You're going to want to see this, because as gorgeous as Maleficent looked in the Disney film, we simply cannot get enough of lady horns.

  6. Sentinels Were Supposed To Show Up In The Second X-Men Film, Here’s What They Would Have Looked Like

    Snikt

Above are how the Sentinels looked in the "past" portion of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Previously, we'd only seen a quick glimpse of one in the danger room portion of X-Men: The Last Stand but as it turns out, the mutant hunters were meant to show up earlier in X2: X-Men United. Take a look at two artists' renderings and imagine what could have been.

  8. You, Yes You, Can Crochet Your Own Tiny Wolverine

    Do Try This At Home

To celebrate the release of the latest X-Men film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, here’s a fun themed project you can put together in a day. Much like every X-Men movie, I’ve decided to focus on Wolverine. With each film, the big screen has served as a catalyst to build up his character, so in kind, we will be building up our very own crocheted Wolverine. Even though I enjoy Hugh Jackman’s performance, I like Wolverine the most when he’s covered in yellow spandex. So my crocheted version is inspired by his comic costume. I’ve turned this tough, wiseass into an adorable amigurumi, and with this tutorial, you can too.

  9. Days of Future Past Roundup: Rogue’s Deleted Scene and Wolverine’s Lead Role Explained, Famke Janssen Talks Female X-Men

    Mutatis Mutandis

We already heard from Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg on why he did that thing he did with the ending. Now, thanks to a piece in Empire, we have in his own words why Wolverine stars in the film, instead of Kitty Pryde or someone else, and why Rogue's scene was cut. But first: Famke Janssen, why do you love the X-Men's female characters so much? Spoilers for Days of Future Past!

  10. Alternate Days of Future Past Concept Art Has Storm, Bishop, Groovy ‘70s Magneto… Jubilee?

    Mutatis Mutandis

Concept Art World got their hands on some alternate designs by X-Men: Days of Future Past costume concept artist  Phillip Boutte Jr., and there’s a lot about these rejected versions of the X-duds to love. Not least is that some of them are worn by Jubilee, who of course didn't end up in the finished film. I wonder: At the point Bryan Singer cut Jubilee, like he would later cut Rogue, was Once Upon a Time's Jamie Chung—whose likeness is clearly on display here—already being mentioned for potential casting? Or does Boutte Jr. just really like Jamie Chung (same)? Either way, can we get Jamie Chung playing a superhero, please and thank you? And not the animated one she's playing in Big Hero 6. Though that's cool, too.
