Killers Video Directed By Tim Burton Stars Winona Ryder And That Kid From Being Human

Also, trademark Tim Burton stripes. The new video features long-time Burton collaborator Winona Ryder as a mannequin but also a real-life star of some sort (perhaps herself?). Also along for the ride is actor Craig Roberts who played creepy Adam on the BBC’s Being Human. And well, he might be creepier here as he’s obsessed with Ryder’s character. The director said the film was inspired by the 1935 film Mad Love and that one time he saw Ryder’s wax figure at Louis Tussaud’s. I won’t spoil where this whole story leads but let’s just say, if you weren’t already aware of how strange Burton’s imagination was before, you will certainly be sure of it now.

Tim Burton’s First Trailer For Frankenweenie!

More like Frankenween-weeeeeeeeeeee!! AMIRITE? It’s the first trailer for Tim Burton’s doggie-Frankenstein film, Frankenweenie. A little history: Burton was fired from Disney back in 1984 for making a live-action version of this film (It starred Shelley DuvallDaniel Stern and Barret Oliver [Bastian from The Neverending Story]). It was deemed too scary for kids and Burton didn’t really fit in with Disney’s cookie-cutter image at the time. The short wasn’t released at the time but Burton of course went on to become a huge star for just that type of work and had a healthy relationship with Disney down the road. This new, stop-motion version of Frankenweenie stars the voices of  Charlie TahanMartin LandauMartin ShortWinona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara. It opens in 3D, October 5.

Tim Burton Brings Frankenweenie Back To Life

Frankenweenie was not appreciated by Walt Disney Pictures when director Tim Burton created it in 1984. In fact, he was fired for it. The Frankenstein parody was deemed too scary for young audiences at the time and faded into history until Burton hit it big directing Edward Scissorhands and by producing The Nightmare Before Christmas and goth kids everyone fell in love with him. He’s since had much broader success which he’s been able to turn into studios giving him carte blanche and he’s using that to re-create the black and white classic in his well-love stop-motion animation style.
