Our First Look At The New Toy Story Short Featuring Jessie!

We were excited to hear Toy Story was getting a Halloween Special but we finally have a few more details as well as this first image. The half-hour short is set to air on ABC and is called Toy Story of TerrorTV Guide reports:

[It] follows the adventures of the toys post-Toy Story 3, in which a fun road trip takes a very unexpected turn. “Bonnie is on a road trip to go see grandma with her mom and the toys are in the trunk,” producer Galyn Susman says. “Mom gets a flat tire and they have to spend the night at a motel and all kinds of chaos ensues.”While Terror will include Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles) and Rex (Wallace Shawn), Jessie (Joan Cusack) will have a more prominent role in the special. “We’ve gotten to see a lot of development in Woody and in Buzz and we felt it was Jesse’s turn to really show some growth.” Susman says.

About time, I’d say. Look for the special this October.

Things We Saw Today: Little Michonne

When I was this kid’s age, I never would have been able to sit through an episode of The Walking Dead. Hell, I’m an adult and I haven’t made it through the whole first episode. Props to her. (Fashionably Geek)

Toy Story, Yes, The Entire Film, Recreated With Real Dolls And People [VIDEO]

We previously saw a small sampling of this project – a live-action version of Disney’s original Toy Story. Now, after two years, it’s complete and all we can do it be impressed by 21-year-old Jesse Perrotta and 19-year-old Jonason Pauley’s hard work. The official Facebook page for the project features link to a few foreign language dubs and you can even watch outtakes here. “I wasn’t positive we were actually really going to do the whole thing,” Perrotta told ABC. “I was worried about the scenes at the end. We had to train the dog, get a moving truck, film a chase scene with toys – but we just stayed positive and took it one day at a time.”

Here’s Toy Story‘s Jessie and Bullseye in All Their Wild West Glory

Jessie from the Toy Story trilogy doesn’t get enough love. I want her, Mulan, and Chel from The Road to El Dorado to have a movie where it’s just 90 minutes of them riding around on horses having adventures. Merida from Brave can come too. Anyway. Artist Lyla Warren has brought Jessie to life with this awesome sculpture of her and Bullseye. Some detail shots are behind the jump, so you can get the full 3D effect, plus two other sculptures, one Disney and one Pixar. I particularly like Warren’s take on dragon Maleficent.

Threadless Goes to Infinity and Beyond With Their New Toy Story Shirts

I have a love-hate relationship with Threadless. On the one hand, I love their designs. On the other, I can’t make myself pay $25 for a t-shirt. It’s just not happening. But I can still admire the awesome tees that make up their new Toy Story collection from afar.

Kinda sucks that Jessie’s not on any of ‘em, though. Et tu, Threadless? Et tu?

NASA Astronauts Are Starting To Look Like Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear

NASA did have an astronaut named Buzz so maybe this new spacesuit is more appropriate than we thought. You’re looking at the Z-1 Prototype Spacesuit and Portable Life Support System 2.0, aka a real space suit that looks a lot like Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear. THR writes, “And this isn’t the only Buzz Lightyear/NASA crossover: Disney and NASA have joined forces to develop hands-on educational activities and exhibits centered around the character’s fictional voyage to, and 450 days spent living inside, the International Space Station.”

This Buzz Lightyear Balloon Costume Should Have Been Filled With Helium

Jeff Wright is an expert balloon artist. He skips the boring swords and poodles and goes straight to making full-body costumes. Here’s his Buzz Lightyear (complete with a fantastic impression) but you can check out some of his other work like Michelangelo from TMNT and Mario riding Yoshi on his website. Wright does children’s parties but is currently working towards getting funding for a year-long mission to a children’s orphanage in Bolivia.
