  3. Things We Saw Today: A Divergent Barbie (Sigh)

Although I appreciate that a Barbie of Divergent's Tris allows young fans to play as a strong female character, I'd be way more excited about this if the doll was realistically proportioned. Shailene Woodley got buff for Insurgent! Why shouldn't a Tris doll celebrate her physical strength?

Apologies for uttering the dreaded "s" word.

I may do an impromptu glance of complete and utter glee every time I remember I never have to go to school another day in my life, but there's one thing I do miss, and that's school supplies. I mean, yeah, "office supplies" are awesome, and they're basically the same thing, but that just sounds so... adult. Eurrrrrgh. For those of you heading back to school soon—I'm sorry. 15. Dog in Star Trek Captain’s Chair Bed Blows up Death Star, Dogs Don’t Understand Star Trek

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no substitute for a good phaser at your side?

You can't teach an old dog new franchises. There's nothing more adorable than a dog in a Star Trek captain's chair bed—that is, until that dog mixes up two of the most iconic sci-fi franchises in history, and you suddenly feel like a failure as a pet owner.

  20. HerUniverse Boldly Goes Where No T-Shirt Has Gone Before

    Make It So

HerUniverse recently held a design contest in conjunction with ThinkGeek for an exclusive Star Trek t-shirt. The winner? This "EntHERprise design. "I almost didn't enter this one, assuming everyone else in the competition would also instantly notice that the classic female symbol sure looks like the top view of the original Enterprise, with nacelles added on, of course," said winner Jeremy Sniatecki. "I ran the concept by my wife, who is a major sci-fi fan and a trusted sounding board for all things creative, and she LOVED the simplicity of it! 'I would TOTALLY buy and wear that!' she said, and so I entered it! She's very choosy about her own nerdy t-shirt purchases, so that was high praise indeed." The fact that no one has done this before blows my mind. I will be needing one immediately. Get yours at ThinkGeek.
