    According to the ever vigilant blastr, a number of people over at the Disney bulletin boards have been receiving surveys from Universal that are essentially testing the enthusiasm for a Lord of the Rings themed park a la The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Posts quote the survey as saying:
    Imagine if you will a world unlike any you've ever visited before: it's Middle Earth, the ancient and beautiful land forged by J.R.R. Tolkien as the backdrop for his two most well known creations, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.   11. Wizarding World of Harry Potter Now Open to the Public

    Six years and an estimated $200 million later, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is now open to the general public, with gates having opened at 5:30am EDT today and long lines expected. The park is situated within Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventures theme park.

    The crown jewel of the park is the Forbidden Journey ride, which J.K. Rowling and several Harry Potter cast members rode during promotional events for the park earlier this week; however, waits for the ride are expected to be up to five hours long this opening week.     We've seen the Super Bowl commercial and the nifty interactive website, but today brings us our first on-the-ground look at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Harry Potter theme park estimated to open on or around May 28th.   14. Harry Potter Theme Park: Coming Soon, Complete with Super Bowl Ad

    The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a (what else) Harry Potter-themed amusement park, is scheduled to open this spring, and they've been beefing up their promotional efforts lately.

    They've recently expanded their preview website for the park, which now features a CGI flyover tour of the park and an interactive map of rides and destinations (including "The Dragon Challenge," "Flight of the Hippogriff," and the somewhat less thrilling "Owl Post Post Office").
