Her Universe Brings Fashion Week Flair To SDCC With Design Contest

As if Her Universe wasn’t fabulous enough, they’ve gone and announced a ”Geek Couture” fashion show and design competition to coincide with Comic-Con International in San Diego this summer. ”Fangirls are already using the halls of San Diego Comic-Con International as their runway to showcase custom fashions. We wanted to give these designers a bigger stage to share their talent and also provide an educational experience in the fashion industry,” said actress and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein. Here’s some creative work by designer Doug Dunnam to inspire you.

The first Anti-Bullying Summit for San Diego Comic-Con was held this year, showcasing a good number wonderful, nerdy individuals talking about the need to stop bullying and sharing their own experiences with the Con. With all the division and bullying even among members of the same fandom, it’s great to see a Comic-Con International event dedicated to targeting the problem of bullying among kids and adults alike, and to preventing bullying in the future.
