The Little Prince
I'm not exactly sure why I'm so worried about this animated adaptation of The Little Prince. It's not like Antoine de Saint-Exupery's classic children's novella is untouched by the hands of film and TV. And there's nothing wrong with adaptation on a basic level. There's just something about the notion of a star-filled version of the notoriously sad book that puts me on high alert. Don't happi-fy this one, Hollywood. That said, the actors involved give me no small bit of hope.
Things We Saw TodayHonestly, I'd be much more interested in this that whatever DC is cooking up in Flashpoint with the Amazons castrating every man in England or whatever, at Comics Alliance, drawn by Jess Fink. (Yes, yes, Batwoman/Renee Montoya is canon.) But moving on! Mermaids, how the fudge do they work?
Attention linguistics geeks: Are you the kind of person who scoffs at the idea of Latin as a "dead" language? We're not sure why this happened, but we're choosing to accept and embrace the fact that someone took the time to translate classic children's books into Latin. For fun? For a college course? Who cares! Non plaudite. Modo pecuniam jacite. (Translated: Don't applaud. Just throw money.) More titles after the jump.
