Catching Fire’s Francis Lawrence On Sticking Close To The Book And Things That Spin

I think it’s safe to say director Francis Lawrence has a lot of pressure on his shoulders thanks to him taking on not just The Hunger Games: Catching Fire but also The Hunger Games: Mockingjay for Lionsgate. As with any adaptation, fans are wondering if anything major will be changed for the screen. Hit the jump for a few answers.

Here’s a New, Beautiful, Kinda Badass Catching Fire Poster

The text reads “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand,” a line from the first chapter of Suzanne Collins‘ Catching Fire. Katniss means it quite literally, but of course it’s not the first thing she’s said that’s been appropriated by people, fictional or otherwise, for their own agendas or dreams. The poster was revealed on the Hunger Games Instagram page, and I do hope they reveal it in a higher resolution soon, because it’s a beaut.

We’ve seen photos from the set, stills, posters, and more posters, but I believe this is our first image from the film itself that features Katniss and Prim together. And seeing as how Katniss heads back home to District 12 after The Hunger Games, she should be getting some quality sister time in.

“Um, seriously, I have had a meeting about being in The Hunger Games. Yes…It was one of the people in the capitol. That’s all I’ll say…there aren’t a lot of roles open, because they’ve all already been cast, but that would be awesome. I’d love to be in The Hunger Games.” – Actress Rebel Wilson speaking to Buzzfeed about what seems to be the very real possibility she might get a role in The Hunger Games franchise. Of course it’s probably too late to sneak her into Catching Fire but perhaps Mockingjay?

Wilson also raved about The Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence, saying she’s the sexiest woman alive. “I met her at a party and she was super-duper nice. She’s really quite tall,” she said. “I don’t know if you get that impression when you see her in movies, but she’s quite tall. Yeah, and she’s just really nice and I love The Hunger Games and I can’t wait for the new one to come out.”
