  5. What To Do When You Discover Your Co-Worker Writes Erotic Hulk Fanfic

    On finding unexpected things

A few years ago, when I started working with special needs children, I did my best to erase my fannish presence from the Internet. I deleted fandom accounts, locked down my social media, and made new aliases in case my old ones had been compromised. I was concerned that parents wouldn't want me working with their children if they knew that I'm the kind of person who engages in complicated debates about Omega reproductive organs.

  6. New Age of Ultron Hot Toys Show Off Our Fave Avengers’ New Movie Costumes

There are no strings on these.

Toy-People.com hit up Hong Kong's Toy Soul 2014, and were able to get some photos of the Hot Toys for Avengers: Age of Ultron. This is particularly cool because it's our first real look at our heroes' updated costumes for the new Whedon flick. I particularly love Widow's new jumpsuit - the blue trim is sharp - and is she fighting with some Mockingbird/Nebula hybrid electrical sticks?

  9. Stanford Researcher Explains the Science of Captain America and the Hulk’s Powers [VIDEO]

"Get in, losers. We're going to do science."

Stanford biologist Sebastian Alvarado is here to take the wind out of your sails, pedants. Superheroes will probably never be 100% scientifically accurate, but Alvarado's rationalizations for the real science that could be at work behind the Hulk and Captain America would make the Science Bros. proud. Watch him explain Captain America above and then hit the jump for the Hulk.

Welcome back to Agent of S.T.Y.L.E., gentle readers! Previously, we presented part 1 of our look at Jennifer Walters, the green-skinned "glamazon" called She-Hulk! We discussed Jen's evolution and fashion from her introduction in 1980 all the way up to the turn of the century.

Now let's see what Jen's been wearing in more recent years and in her new monthly series. And, while we're at it, who are these other ladies who have been called She-Hulks?

  14. Man of Steel Sequel Writer David Goyer Calls Marvel’s She-Hulk “A Giant Green Porn Star,” Insults Geeks

Today in things that make us scream incoherently

Last night, a podcast called Scriptnotes interviewed a panel of screenwriters before a live audience. "The Summer Superhero Spectacular" panel included Andrea Berloff (The Legend of Conan), Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and David S. Goyer (Man of Steel). Podcast hosts John August and Craig Mazin asked the screenwriters a few questions on how they approached the genre of superheroes and mythical warriors. As expected, Goyer answered some questions but avoided giving away spoilers on his upcoming projects bringing the DC Comics Universe to live-action. But it's the way he spoke about a Marvel Comics hero which got our attention.

  15. Agent of S.T.Y.L.E. – Gamma Ray Glamor With She-Hulk: Part 1!

    Agent of S.T.Y.L.E.

In 1962, comics introduced Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, a genius mutated by gamma radiation who frequently transformed into the Hulk. In 1980, writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema introduced his cousin Jennifer Susan Walters, who earned the nickname "She-Hulk." Ever since then, Jennifer has been rocking out in various comic book titles and teams, earning a loyal fanbase. There have also been a couple of other She-Hulks over the years, but a lot of people consider Jen as the one, true lady behind that name. A new She-Hulk series has recently debuted from Marvel Comics, which I recommend you pick up [Editor's Note: It's great, and issue #4 came out yesterday!]. In the meantime, let's chat about how Jennifer became Marvel's glamorous gamma-powered green-skinned amazon!

  16. These Illustrated Superhero Silhouettes Shed Light On Origin Stories

    Submitted For Your Approval

Superhero origins are often frightening or humbling, and I think that's what we love about them. We love the idea that an ordinary human being can become something extraordinary. We love the idea that even gods and aliens can find kinship with humanity. I see those qualities reflected in Khoa Ho's "Superheroes - Past/Present" poster series, and I admire how simply that effect is achieved. Click through for a sampling of his work. Prints are available at Hero Complex Gallery.

  17. Rich Jerks Love Hulk Hands in This Rap Video

"You know I never leave my house without my Hulk Hands."

Remember "Hulk Hands"? Those giant novelty toy gloves that make it look like your hands are really the Hulk's hands? Dave Ebert and Douglas Widick sure do. That's probably why they made this great rap video about two rich jerks who always wear Hulk Hands. Always.

  18. Heroes Actor Joins Agents of SHIELD as Hulk-Chasing Colonel Glenn Talbot

    Excelsior!

It's easy to forget that the Hulk has his own franchise, given that the character has been played by a different actor in each of his appearances (well, unless you count the end of Iron Man 3). It might also be that there hasn't been a Hulk movie since before Marvel really started pushing the shared universe idea, which is a pity, because Mark Ruffalo did a pretty great job. But bits of the Hulk's expanded cast have now been confirmed to appear in Agents of SHIELD.

  20. Fukushima’s Radioactive Water to Hit United States Shores Soon, Probably Won’t Make You the Hulk

    Or Spider-Man. Probably.

"Hey, there's radioactive water coming to your shores," only sounds like good news if you're looking for a really bizarre new origin story for Aquaman. Luckily, it's not terrible news, either. At least in the case of the water from the Fukushima nuclear plant mishap, it's not, because it looks like the water is within safety standards.
