Guy Inserts Himself Into 80s Films And Chases After His Ex-Girlfriend [VIDEO]

Jon Marco has insured people will listen to his song “Rhianna.” How? He put together a music video for it starring himself in classic 80s films like Back to the Future, The Goonies, Teen Wolf, and more. The premise of the film is Marco chasing after an ex-girlfiend which, granted, is actually pretty creepy. Especially him chasing her as The Shining’s Jack Torrence. But the execution is impressive. My only other issue with the video is Marco gets to wear tons of awesome 80s movie outfits while Samantha Raye’s Rhianna stays in the same costume almost the whole way through. At least he put himself in the…well, you’ll see.

The 80s, When Saucy Kittens Had Fur-Shaped Leotards. Oh, And Someone Is Making A Heathcliff Movie

And legwarmers. Don’t forget the legwarmers.

Honestly, we didn’t think this Heathcliff story would be that interesting to you all (CGI/live-action hybrid, blah, blah) but while searching for an image on Google we stumbled across good ol’ Cleo and her totally 80s fashion and couldn’t resist. For those genuinely curious, the film is being made by the same folks who did the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies so…

It's Technical

This Ghostbusters Spoof by Apple Is Found Next to the Dictionary Definition of 1984 [Video]

A lot of people say that the late Steve Jobs was ahead of his time. I will not dispute that, but I will say that this four-minute video of Apple goofing on IBM to the tune of the Ghostbusters theme song that was made in 1984 pretty much reeks of 1984. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Nope, not at all. It wasn’t a commercial, it was made for a worldwide sales staff meeting for Apple employees and features both Jobs and Steve Wozniak in cameo roles. Not visible in this video: the neon legwarmers.

We Are Getting Another Garbage Pail Kids Movie, Older Young People Rejoice

In somewhat strange news, it was announced that Michael Eisner‘s production company, The Tornante Company, is developing a movie for the 1980s gross-out trading card characters, the Garbage Pail Kids. This will actually be their second movie; there was a live-action version made in 1987, and I could have used that as the top pic, but it was really off-putting. (Hence Loogie Leia, because: geek relevance!) Because it was Garbage Pail Kids IRL. So, awesome! I had no idea there was a huge call for this, but sure! Garbage Pail Kids movie!

They Are Totally Making a Musical Version of Valley Girl

Paramount and MGM have been working together to produce a musical remake of the 1983 classic, Valley Girl. The most recent news — besides the news that this is happening at all — is that they’ve found a director, and there’s a good chance you’ve never heard of him. Clay Weiner, best known for directing commercials, lobbied heavily for the gig and landed it after using his time off to create and produce a video mashup of all the song that appear in the film. And now we’ll get to wonder: Who could score the role that made Nicolas Cage a star?

The Transformers Do Thriller [Video]

It doesn’t get any more ’80s than this: The Transformers dancing to Michael Jackson‘s Thriller. The only thing that would make this even more ’80s would be if Marty McFly showed up in a DeLorean. But it is rad all by itself.
