We’ve always known the BBC was going to slowly roll out their Doctor Who 50th anniversary plans, and many fans were hoping to see a lot of Classic Doctor content, but now we have some concrete info. But then why are Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, and Colin Baker protesting outside BBC TV?

I contemplated titling this “Five Classic Doctors Returning for Doctor Who‘s 50th Anniversary”—which is technically true—but that’s a little mean, plus I’d rather not deal with the aftermath. :)

That Time Matt Smith Said He’d Do Who In New Zealand, and Peter Jackson Said “Sure”

Well, we’ve already had one Doctor Who related post today, and one Peter Jackson one, so you’ll just have to tough it out while we tell you about this one. See, we already knew that Matt Smith, in an interview with New Zealand-based Waikato Times, what anyone would have said when asked whether you’d like to film something in the questioner’s home country. He said “No, of course not. I hate New Zealand and its wealth of unparalleled natural beauty.” No, of course not, he said:

“I think it would be an absolutely wonderful place to film Doctor Who… Let’s get Peter Jackson to direct [an episode] and go and make it in New Zealand. I would love to, I will campaign endlessly to come over and film there.”

The new The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey trailer doesn’t hit the Web until tomorrow, but luckily for us Warner Bros. has released some new pics to help tide us over ’til then. Some of them are ones Hobbit-fans (Hobbiteers?) will have seen already, but there’s one Middle Earth denizen we’re seeing for the first time: The wizard Radagast the Brown, played by Sylvester McCoy (aka Doctor Who‘s Seven).
