This Iron Man 3 trailer is a shot-for-shot remake of the first Iron Man 3 trailer, not the one that came out yesterday. The crew at Homemade Movies might be wizards at cobbling together super-suits (and Tony’s mansion… and the Mandarin’s rings…) out of cardboard, but they’re not capable of time travel (that we know of).

Since the Man of Steel trailer doesn’t really make good on its special effects and superpowers, the first half of this trailer isn’t really chock full of the humorous attempts at replicating Hollywood magic with cardboard and forced perspective in the way that a lot of sweded trailers do, a fake beard and toy school bus aside. But I’ll give it this: they’ve also sweded every aspect of the audio, and the music is remarkably good.

Who doesn’t love a good sweded trailer for a blockbuster movie? Apparently not giant plush bunny rabbits.
(I’ve embedded the original trailer below, for your ease of comparison, so don’t say I never did anything for ya.)

I have breaking news for everyone: no matter what you do today, you will not top this video. Because this is a video in which children re-enact the chestbursting scene from Ridley Scott‘s Alien. With a sock puppet and a hair clip. And pizza and fake mustaches. These kids will grow up to be heroes. I just know it. They laugh in the face of fear (at about 30 seconds in).

Sure, it was only a matter of time before The Hobbit got this kind of treatment, but it’s the execution where a swede really shines, not the idea of sweding itself. I don’t want to give anything away, but the dwarf roll call and musical interlude has been improved upon. This will also satisfy those who love Meet the Feebles, Peter Jackson‘s second feature film, and those who like buttered bread.
If you’d like to compare to the actual Hobbit trailer, or if you just want to watch it again (who could blame you?), you’ll find it below.

Oh, have we got a riddle for you. It’s something you haven’t seen, but at the same, you’ve seen it already. If you’re thinking it’s a possible clue into whether or not Joseph Gordon-Levitt might be, say, the Riddler … you are wrong. You are incredibly wrong. We still have no idea what the deal with that is. What we do know is that people make wonderful parodies of things, and that includes the trailer to The Dark Knight Rises. Above, the sweded version. After the jump, the cat version.

First, a deleted scene from Captain America: The First Avenger that shows grown men looking terrified by an animated tank that doesn’t even exist! Oh, moviemaking! This scene cut from the theatrical release, featuring the Battle at Azzano, will be on the DVD and Blu-ray, which will hit stores October 25. But if you can’t wait for that, and would like to see a fan-made version of the trailer for The Avengers, we invite you to join us after the jump. (P.S.: You will want to see this.)
