Fans of the ElfQuest comic have been waiting for a film adaptation oh, just about forever. Warner Bros. was close to making it happen but the job has now passed to two indie producers who have a history with the series.
Lots of people want in on Joss Whedon’s upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. television show on ABC but perhaps none more than Adam Levermore. He created a short comedy film to act as his resume for production designer on the Avengers spin-off series. And they should really hire him. I mean, besides the fact he pulled this together in two and a half weeks, it’s the eye for detail. “Everything that isn’t part of the building or being worn by the actors was my design work, and I think it really shows what I can do to bring a unified, coherent feel to a fictional world,” he writes. Of course it does help Levermore to have Mythbusters’Grant Imahara playing himself and Whedon cohort Amber Benson in the mix. The short also stars Taryn O’Neill, Stephanie Thorpe, Andrew Seely, and Yuri Lowenthal. Seriously, give the guy the job already or let him in for an interview at the very least
Oh, I forgot, it was written by Amy Berg and there’s also a Bear McCreary score. I mean, come on!

What if we dressed a lobster up like Tim Curry in Rocky Horror and called it a Powerpuff Girls villain? Oh, we did that already? #himisweird
