We Asked, You Answered: The Mary Sue Readers Sound Off The Summer Movies of 2014

It seems like it was winter just yesterday, but already summer movie season is starting in the US with today’s release of a little movie called Captain America: The Winter Soldier. A ton of movies are coming out over the next few months, some that we’re looking forward to here at The Mary Sue (Guardians of the Galaxy), some that we’re… not (Transformers: Age of Extinction). But we got curious: Which ones are you most looking forward to? So we asked. What follows is a roundup of the 2014 summer movie season, ranked from the flick you’re are least anticipating to the one you’re most chomping at the bit for. We’ve included our thoughts as well, plus a general sample of the responses we got to each film. (Are you in there? Step up and claim your wit!)

Does the breakdown surprise you, or is it just about what you thought it would be?  Do you differ from the majority? Sound off in the comments.

Snowpiercer Apparently Is Too Smart For Western Audiences, Says Weinstein

Want to know why Bong Joon-Ho‘s awesome new film Snowpiercer is getting a delayed premiere in America?

Apparently, because Harvey Weinstein thinks the film is too smart for the Midwestern audience, so he’s cutting 20 minutes of character development and non-action stuff.

Chris Evans Goes Un-Captain America, Attacks People With An Axe In New Snowpiercer Trailer [VIDEO]

This is labelled on YouTube as “Final Trailer” because Bong-Joon Ho‘s Snowpiercer, starring Chris Evans, John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, Ed Harris, Ewen Bremner, and Song Kang-ho (seriously, this cast, I cannot even), comes out in South Korea on August 1st. There’s no word yet on a U.S. release date, but it’d better be soon, because I’m not sure how much longer I can wait for this movie. Dystopia! Class warfare and revolution! On a train!

Trailer For New Thriller Snowpiercer Looks Awesome, And So Does Tilda Swinton.

Tilda Swinton, Chris Evans, and an uprising on a giant train in a frozen wasteland? The premise may sound strange on paper, but the trailer for the film Snowpiercer looks epic.

This is also probably the closest you will ever get to watching Captain American and the White Witch of Narnia face off in a fight.
