If Firefly’s Serenity Was Made Out Of Gingerbread, Would You Eat It?

This…took a lot of work so personally, I wouldn’t. But if I lived on Serenity? Darn tootin’ I would.

Burn the Land and Boil the Sea – The Cast Of Firefly Has Been Auto-Tuned [VIDEO]

While we anxiously await the Firefly reunion special this Sunday on the Science Channel, how about a nice ditty? If you don’t like auto-tune it’s still worth a listen to hear all your favorite lines from the series, but especially to hear Inara sound like GLaDOS from Portal.

The Avengers Opening Credits: Firefly Style

During a recent interview following the release of The Avengers, Joss Whedon indicated that if he could return to any of his fandoms, it would be to Firefly: ”You know, I love all my raggedy children,” he said. “But if I could be anywhere, I’d be on board Serenity.” It’s too bad he’s busy making a billion dollars from the Avengers franchise. Here’s a fan-made opening sequence for The Avengers done in the style of Firefly for those of us still in mourning — cheer up, there are countless worlds of fandom crossover yet to explore!

Kara Helgren, and the PDX Browncoats [Firefly]

You’ve heard of Firefly right? Of course you have. Did you know that all over the country there are groups and organizations that have formed simply because of this amazing show? One of these is my local PDX Browncoats (PDX stands for Portland, OR in case you were unsure). I had a chance to sit down with board member Kara Helgren recently and talk about how she got involved and what the Portland group gets up to.

In 2005 Kara discovered Firefly through the local newspaper’s review of the movie Serenity. Within a very short amount of time she had watched the entire series and the movie and was in love. In 2006 she relocated from Boston back to Portland and she wanted to reestablish her life here. She says “I had always been a fan of the Sci-Fi side of life but was unaware of “fandom” and the community that can come from similar interests”.

Alan Tudyk, Stop Talking About a Serenity Sequel, You’re Just Going To Make Everyone Sad

But I don’t know, is there one planned? This is how I see it happening, and this is just all out of my head, please do not put this on anyone else ’cause I’ve gotten in trouble in the past but I see Nathan Fillion in another 10 years, teaming up with Joss Whedon and doing something where he brings back Mal.

Mal living on some planet alone, he’s shunned everyone and everybody and something happens that draws him back in to do it. I absolutely know that Nathan would be up for it, I know Joss Whedon would be up for it. Alan Tudyk, on a possible sequel to Serenity, the Firefly movie.

No, this is not Alan Tudyk talking about a Firefly movie that’s in the works, in script stages, in thinking about stages or any kind of stage whether it be stage coach, stage names, or stage left. This is just Alan Tudyk saying things that make us sad. More sad after the break (with cursing and possible Serenity spoilers).

My Little Serenity: Friendship is Magic

Now that I’ve actually watched some My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic I’ve come to appreciate the subtle choice of character pairing in most MLP:FiM trailers. Spike as the Operative was great, Rainbow Dash as Wash and Fluttershy as River was an obvious choice, but I’m not so sure about Pinkie Pie as Zoe, it seems like Pinkie would be better suited to Kaylee but then Rarity is so obviously Inara that I suppose you just run out of characters especially if Big Macintosh doesn’t really say enough to make him Jayne and you have to put Applejack in the role instead.

If life were a video game, I would have unlocked some kind of slightly embarrassing achievement for being able to construct that paragraph.
