There’s some other stuff in this trailer too, like Sir Anthony Hopkins being an adorable mad scientist and John Malkovich being generally amazing. And Bruce Willis moving and saying things. But the high point is Helen Mirren kicking butt and taking names. I don’t think I need to explain why.

Red was a solidly enjoyable action comedy that was only enhanced by the fact that it offered a middle aged or older actress a chain gun and a romance in the same story. Frankly, I’m not expecting much from the sequel other than that it have explosions, witty banter, Helen Mirren, and Bruce Willis looking like he just sucked a lemon… but I believe it will deliver, and deliver admirably.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins join the cast of Red 2 with Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, and John Malkovich reprising their roles. They’ve got a new director this time around though, Dean Parisot. You may know him from such films as Galaxy Quest. And well, that’s all you need to know because Galaxy Quest is awesome.

Sometime in the night, while most of us were watching Doctor Who’s second episode of the season, “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship,” show runner Steven Moffat deleted his twitter account. Navigating to @steven_moffat loads the image above. This is a developing story but in recent days, Moffat appeared to be having issues with Twitter users. He wrote, “Forgive my ignorance – is there a way to limit who can follow you and Tweet you?” In an effort to explain the situation, his wife, producer Sue Vertue, tweeted, “For all asking @stevenmoffat is well and currently having a family lunch but he’s got a huge amount on and twitter was proving a distraction.” And then realizing she hadn’t written his deleted username properly, added, “Obviously the new @stevenmoffat is an imposter and not The Moff. It’s just these sort of idiots that ruin Twitter for the majority of users.” It was actually an old, fake account, but there you go.

Dame Helen Mirren has confirmed her involvement in the sequel to RED, the 2010 sleeper hit of an action movie based on Warren Ellis‘ comic that turned this awesome woman in her 60s into a serious action star (National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets notwithstanding). The sequel, which was announced back in January, doesn’t have anyone else officially on board at the moment, but if Mirren is on board, then everyone else is just going to look like a huge bummer if they turn it down.
