  1. Kevin Feige Explains How Ultron‘s Quicksilver Will Be More Srs Bsns Than His Days of Future Past Counterpart

He doesn't say the word "gritty," but it's strongly implied.

  2. X-Men Days of Future Past Writer Talks About Quicksilver’s Inclusion As It Relates To The Avengers

    Mutatis Mutandis

During the hype for the film, many of our readers complained about X-Men Days of Future Past's Quicksilver. But having seen the film, I can tell you he was the best part. That's not to say The Avengers: Age of Ultron's version won't be cooler but listen to writer Simon Kinberg as he's asked to explain why the character was chosen for the film. Now, we don't know what was going on in Hollywood but Joss Whedon confirmed he'd be using both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch on May 17 of last year, though it was hinted at on April 21. Bryan Singer made the casting announcement for X-Men's Quicksilver (Evan Peters) on May 23. He even made what could have passed for a dig at the Avengers sequel in his tweet, (Age of Ultron's Quicksilver - Aaron Taylor-Johnson - wasn't revealed until October.), and while I don't mean to imply they did it on purpose, it's hard to believe they hadn't heard rumblings about the character. Previously in X-Men

  3. There’s A New X-Men: Days Of Future Past Video Starring Quicksilver And We Don’t Want To Trip Him!

    Faster than a speeding bullet!

Before seeing either of the films, if I had to choose which version of Quicksilver I preferred, X-Men: Days of Future Past or The Avengers: Age of Ultron, I would have said Avengers out of pure annoyance. While it looks like that might be the angle they're taking with the character in Days of Future Past, something about this latest feature makes me think I might wind up liking their version a lot. Mutatis Mutandis

You see that? That's a new Quicksilver promo from X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's also the reason you've just been hit by an inexplicable urge to visit Hot Topic. Don't blame me. Blame Bryan Singer. Speaking of, he has some things to say about his Days of Future Past follow-up Apocalypse, specifically how it will relate to its comics inspiration and which long-absent mutants might be putting in an appearance. And producer Simon Kinberg answered some questions about Quicksilver in Days of Future Past, including that of whether he's still Magneto's who what now?

So. Y'know. Watch it. And hey, as horrifically awful as this is, at least it's not outrageously sexist like their Mystique ad. (via: Kotaku) Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?
