  3. Games for Girls? How About Games for Everyone?

Gender-neutral games are too hard to animate.

The portrayal and treatment of women in and around video games is a sore subject for a lot of us. It’s been talked about to death, and yet it still doesn’t seem like we’re making much progress. It’s a very polarizing but uniformly upsetting issue that lingers on in this otherwise great community like cat pee on an oriental rug.

  4. Things We Saw Today: The Illustration For “Human” In D&D Is Awesome

You mean humans can be not generically stubbly white males? GASP

The rules for the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons seem to be getting everything right. First, they're inclusive of all different kinds of gender identity. Now, they're even illustrating "humans" as not generic white male game characters. Thanks, D&D. You rule. (via Twitter)

  5. Actual Fish Plays Pokémon, It’s Not Very Effective, but It Is Fun to Watch

Look what Lord Helix hath wrought.

Living in a fishbowl is (probably) boring. So one Twitch user took inspiration from Twitch Plays Pokémon and rigged up a motion capture camera to allow his fish to play the original Pokémon games. 8. Things We Saw Today: Pokémon Shaming Catches ‘Em All…In The Act

Prepare for trouble. It's me. I'm here. I did it. I'm the one.

Much like the pet-shaming craze that swept the Internet a while back, masters are now publicly admonishing their Pokemon for bad deeds. But wouldn't you be rowdy if you spent most of your time cooped up in a ball?

  9. Things We Saw Today: I Chews You, Pikachu Burger!

Pikachu burger uses Bun-der Shock! It's super effective!

As delicious as it looks, I kinda feel like I wouldn't be able to eat this burger from the pop-up Pikachu café in Tokyo. Instead I'd probably just let it follow me around while I eat food shaped like other Pokémon.
