  1. Why Pikachu Should Be President: A 10-Year-Old’s Very Important Essay

    "Super effective."

[Editor's Note: The following was an essay written by Georgia Roberson, the daughter of Chris Roberson (iZombie) and his business partner/wife Allison Baker. It was originally posted on Roberson's tumblr and is republished here with permission. We think you're really, really going to love it.]

  2. Monday Cute: March of the Pikachus

    Does it matter why?

According to Seoul Sync, this is a Pikachu Parade, something that took place over the weekend to celebrate Park Se-Joon, the first Koream to win a world Pokémon championship. The parade happened four times a day, along with card games, quizzes, and more.

  5. Things We Saw Today: I Chews You, Pikachu Burger!

Pikachu burger uses Bun-der Shock! It's super effective!

As delicious as it looks, I kinda feel like I wouldn't be able to eat this burger from the pop-up Pikachu café in Tokyo. Instead I'd probably just let it follow me around while I eat food shaped like other Pokémon.

  8. Get Back To Basics With This Pop Culture Alphabet

This charming series is the work of Jeff Victor, whose art we've featured previously. If you have young ones this might benefit -- or an empty spot on your grown-up wall -- he's got a poster print available for sale. The V, W, and X panel makes for an interesting discussion piece on the signature outfits of female characters, wouldn't you say?

  9. Rare Pikachu Illustrator Card Up For Auction on Ebay, Bidding Starts at $100,000

It's basically like owning a Master PokéBall.

I think every nerd my age had that sad day in their childhood when they realized the Pokémon cards they'd been collecting weren't really going to be worth anything in the future. Scott Pratte presumably does not have this same problem, because he's got an unbelievably rare illustrator card from Japan -- and now he's asking for $100 grand on eBay.

  10. Gotta Catch ’em All: Pikachu 3DS XL to Appear in North America on March 24th

If you've been on the fence as far as the Nintendo 3DS is concerned, there's now one more reason to go ahead and take the plunge: The Pikachu 3DS XL is set to launch in North America on March 24th. That's right. The favorite Electric-type Pokémon of children everywhere -- adults prefer Ampharos, obviously -- graces the cover of this particularly radiant handheld. It gets better, though, as there are perks to purchasing certain games with it.

  11. Kitten Pikachu: Gotta Catch ‘Em All [VIDEO]

    Japan :D

The gentlemen who brought us the kitten lightsaber duel and Jedi kittens strike back are at it again. This time they've turned a kitten into Pikachu. Let me just say, you are totally not prepared for how cute this is. The group, Final Cut King, also posted a behind-the-scenes video which we've embedded after the jump!

Crochet makes everything huggable ... except for this. It's awesome, but I still don't want to touch the yarn vomit. See more horror-ific crochet work at Croshame, and make sure to visit the Etsy store. The power of yarn compels you! (via I Have Seen the Whole of the Internet)

  16. Pikachu Kitty is Photoshopped, Don’t Worry

Thankfully, this picture of a kitty dyed to look like a Pikachu isn't real, it's an impressive Photoshop job. Knowing that this kitty wasn't put through the abuse of an extensive dye job, I can now not feel so terrible for thinking it's adorable.

  18. Reshiram and Zekrom Balloons To Join Pikachu In Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Dear international readers, America has a holiday coming up where we eat a ton of food and then pass out that's supposed to commemorate a nice fable that we tell small children to avoid explaining a much more nuanced and politically charged historical situation. There are other qualities to Thanksgiving, however, like football (American football, you know, handegg?), and a very serious parade in New York City. So serious it had to be rickrolled by a Cartoon Network show. Well, in addition slow moving decorated vehicles covered in awkwardly lip syncing celebrities, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade also famously features balloons. A fifty foot tall Pikachu has been a member of the floating company since 2001, and this year he is reportedly going to be joined by a couple of new faces.

  19. The Pokéwalker – Pedometer, Tamagotchi, Peripheral

Those of you looking forward to picking up Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver next week might be surprised to find a small hokey-looking plastic device included with your purchase. Do not be alarmed. It is Nintendo's new Pokémon-themed peripheral for the DS, the Pokéwalker.

It allows you to store one pokémon within its confines (much like a pokéball), where it will gain experience with every step you take.

Oh, did we mention that it's a pedometer?
