Whoopi Goldberg Might Be Playing April O’Neil’s Boss

Yesterday our world spun with the news that something half-way interesting was actually happening on the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Ninja Turtles or whatever it winds up calling itself. Which is to say that Whoopi Goldberg, previously not considered to be connected to the movie in any way, shape, or form, was on set. With no casting announcement to go on, speculation immediately began as to who the actress might be playing.

Comic Book Movie thinks it has the answer.

Whoopi Goldberg Will Be In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reboot, Apparently

Or at least she’s been spotted on the set. Geek Tyrant speculates that her role is only a cameo, which makes sense, because if she were going to be a major character surely there would’ve been some sort of casting announcement, right?

I’m not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand: Whoopi Goldberg! Yay! On the other: I will be surprised if the Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles is any good. But hey, if nothing else this bit o’ news has given us a pic of Ms. Goldberg with some truly wondrous hair.

Never Mind, Says Michael Bay. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Aren’t Aliens Anymore.

Remember how Michael Bay caused a freakout of epic proportions when he announced the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie he’s producing, called simply Ninja Turtles, will reboot the turtles as aliens? Well now he’s saying that not only are the turtles not aliens (yay!), they were never going to be aliens to begin with (bzuh?).
