Vampy’s Amazing Genderswapped Nightwing Cosplay

As the superhero identity of Dick Grayson, the all-grown-up first Robin, Nightwing’s almost always been the superhero identity of a dude. Notable exceptions being the Nightwing of the Smallville setting and Power Girl while trying to police the Kryptonian city of New Kandor. But cosplayer Vampy isn’t dressed as any of those. Rather she’s clearly drawing inspiration from the version of Nightwing that appears in Batman: Arkham City, and who cares if he’s not a chick. She’s done an incredible job.

DC Comics Starts Selling Licensed Art Prints Of Their Properties (Finally!)

You’ve seen them on Tumblr, Etsy, DeviantArt, etc. – amazingly artistic images you’d love to hang on your wall, featuring your favorite DC Comics characters. Fans have wished DC would get behind the idea and sell similar items for a while now. Well, it seems they’ve finally heard us. DC Comics have begun selling a range of archival prints, previously sold at the C2E2 convention in Chicago, in their DC Collectibles shop. Our Favorite TDKR Rumor of the Day: One Of These Women Might Actually Be in TDKR

I was going to stick this into the “hold on to your butts” category because…woah…but since there’s no confirmation I chose “rumory.” We’ve just heard that a certain DC Comics superheroine might have a role in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises and that a famous actress has already been filming as her. The HUGE spoiler and a photo that corroborates the story is under the cut.

The New 52 in Review: Week 3

Christopher Holden continues a series reviewing the New 52 with…

WONDER WOMAN

Editor’s Note: If you buy one New 52 comic this week, I hope it’s Wonder Woman #1. I hope it excites many of you when I say: If you like Sandman, or Hellblazer you will finish the issue in what feels like way too soon and be begging for more.

Unlike many of the other new 52 relaunches, there is no retelling of Diana’s origins. She simply IS Wonder Woman, and she is not one to be trifled with. Connections to the Greek gods are still an important aspect of the story, although given the looks of Hermes and Apollo, there may be more to the Greek Pantheon than meets the eye. Like any great Greek tale, the story begins in medias res, and although there is not a lot of focus on Diana, she is presented as a warrior who has been thrust into a new adventure of many. Wonder Woman has been reinvented several times over the last couple years, and I think this is the best interpretation we have seen since DC: The New Frontier.
