My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic airs a very special episode tomorrow on The Hub in which the lovable and charismatic Twilight Sparkle is changing. To find out how much, we spoke with the talented woman who provides her voice on the series, Tara Strong. Hear what she had to say about Pony fandom, the upcoming Teen Titans Go!, and the one animated venue she’d still love to visit.
We love WeLoveFine and WeLoveFine loves geeks. That’s why they’ve put together an extra-special Valentine’s Day (or valenTEE’s day) section for those of you wanting to show some geeky pride leading up to the holiday. Take a peek at lovey-dovey designs from Star Wars, comics, My Little Pony, and more. And don’t forget to check out the rest of the designs on WeLoveFine.com!
We’ve seen John de Lancie do a lot of ridiculous things thanks to his time as Q on Star Trek: The Next Generation but this…this is something to behold. “Let’s Go and Meet the Bronies” was written by Lauren Faust, Amy Keating Rogers, and Zachary Lobertini and is part of a larger My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic documentary about the fandom. De Lancie voices Discord on the animated series and star Tara Strong adds her vocal stylings to the mix near the end. My life is better for watching this.
Liebatron on Deviantart crafted this possibly gently melting version of Ponyville that looks too good to eat. Those ponies, though, they’re plastic. Probably want to leave them on the table.
The internet was killing me for content today so you get a Game of Thrones Daenerys Targaryen My Little Pony I created by using this flash program DeviantArt user GeneralZoi made. I also made one of myself as Dany because I’m that girl. (via The Bird and the Bat)
I’m pretty sure I’ve gone on record before as stating that I will never ever get tired of the audio from movie and video game trailers being played over selected clips from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Here’s a MLP trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness. Maybe MLP:FiM could loan STID its colon? Maybe just for like, opening weekend.
(I’ve posted the actual STID trailer below, if you’d like to compare.)
Artist Shinoda has decided Argentina needs more color. Rainbow colors to be exact. The 16-year-old recently started painting towns Brony style and needless to say, they stand out from the crowd. See which My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic characters are now gracing the streets of Argentina.
Idly, this weekend, I did a search on Etsy for “cookie cutters,” thinking that there must be some crazy stuff out there… and I was rewarded with WarpZone, a shop that not only has My Little Pony, Pokémon, and other video game themed cookie cutters on hand, but will also 3D print you a washing machine-safe cookie cutter of any design you like. But what you really want to see is what they have on hand, I know, and what the cookies actually look like. Come take a look!
Lauren Faust tweeted this picture last night along with the text “Been missing these ladies lately…” This prompted our fellow ladies in comics blogger Sue from DC Women Kicking Ass to press for more information, and Faust, the showrunner behind My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and The Super Best Friends Forever shorts for the DC Nation hour on Cartoon Network, confirmed the sad news that when DC Nation finally returns from an unexpected hiatus in January, we won’t be seeing any more of the SBFF’s brand of equal opportunity crime fighting any time soon.
