Disney Princesses Re-Imagined As Women Of Color

Despite our immense love of all things Disney, we wouldn’t mind if they added a few more princesses of color — while we can’t get enough of Jasmine, Mulan, Tiana, and Pocahontas (despite that movie horrifically minimizing the impacts of colonialism), there is always more room for positive representations of women of color, especially in films that reach young girls beginning to steel themselves against a media culture that can be racist, sexist, and cruel. While we can’t exactly go back in time and influence Disney’s animators (though if we could, we totally would) we can at least squeal over these awesome race bent princesses, thanks to Tumblr user Lauren and Azaelea’s Dolls!
